WORKSHOPS

2026 fully booked · 2027 dates now open

For more than two decades I have made monumental pots in southern Vermont. A few times each year I open my studio to a small handful of potters who want to learn how to work at large scale. The 2026 sessions filled quickly, and five sessions are now open in the first half of 2027. (For people who can’t make it to Vermont, I have condensed the essential strategies and techniques in a concise video aviallable for purchase.)

OF SCALE

Working at large scale is not simply a matter of working harder. With the right combination of materials, strategies, techniques and patience, working large is in reach of anyone with intermediate or advanced skills.

My video course introduces students to everything they need to know to get started and work on their own. My in-person workshops provide an intellectual, technical and experiential grounding that enables students to realize new visions and leave with the confidence to make large work a part of their studio practice. Many say that the five-day immersion is life-changing.
