Stephen came to clay from an earlier life as a classical guitarist, trading sound and time for clay and space in the same search to shape the invisible. Over three decades, his vessels have been shown at fairs and museums and have joined private collections across the United States, with a full-page New York Times story in 2024.

ARCADIAN SERIES
Natural forms of fertility and gestation blend with the proportional principles of ancient Mediterranean vessels in this collection. The stoniness of their unglazed surfaces easily enters into conversation with plantings and other elements in the garden or landscape. These vessels have been the core of the studio's production practice for the past decade and are available by order.
This slightly widened globe form radiates a serene energy of repose and contentment. It takes its name from the representation of the smiling pot-bellied Buddha, popular especially in Japanese culture. This vessel comes with a matching lid.
